Quiet and peaceful the
Castlerigg Farm site is perfectly situated between
the M6 junction 41 Penrith north and M6 junction 42
Carlisle south, via the A6. Lying only perhaps 10
minutes from major national road links you simply
couldn’t ask for a better location when touring or
camping. Set in the quietness of the rolling
green landscape Castlerigg is barely a mile off the
A6, approached by a country road and a long driveway
to the farm, both of which are suitable for towing
vehicles
The A6 an old
north/south roadway, runs parallel to the M6 through
the beautiful Eden District countryside. The A6 can
be accessed from Carlisle and Penrith, including via
the trans-Pennine and Lake District routes, as well
as the two nearby motorway junctions.
Positioned immediately
off the farm tarmac driveway, the site area has been
fenced and set aside qualifying under the Camping
and Caravanning Club regulations as a Certificated
Location. The views are breathtaking over
several miles of undulating countryside to the peaks
of the Lake District fells. The electric hook-up is
at hand, the water supply is next to the pitches and
waste disposal point is located by the farmhouse.
The pitch area is easy to access alongside the
driveway and should you need any help at all
hitching and unhitching then the ‘brawn’ of the
Bowman family can be called upon to assist.
The young and
energetic Bowman family, setting out on their
lifelong farming career at Castlerigg, have worked
tirelessly to make the farm viable and part of that
aim is to welcome people to their home. They have a
small Farm Shop which stocks locally produced
products from other friends and neighbours' Cumbrian
farms.
With small children of
their own the family also understand the need for
youngsters to have their own space and have set
aside a Games Room with table football plus
other toys and games to help keep them amused and
entertained.
A bar-be-que
facility is also provided for those who require it.
